Pag-tiygaan nalang ang libreng dial-up
Here i am, writing this short post about my internet connection. Since telephone service ang important, hindi DSL or any other form of broadband connection kaya Dial-up lang ako and lahat sila ay hindi 56 kbps ang speed nila, they are more like 33.6 kbps most of the time. You are lucky if you reach 56 kbps.
Anyways, i’m taking advantage of the off-peak free internet (12am to 8 am) and i have to say that it is slower than usual (more like 28.8 kbps now) pero pag-tiyagaan nalang kaysa puro busy sa kabilang line.

Jesi & some boy. Hazel and another boy & Rich with yet another boy in thier respective Starstruck “kissflick” (oh dear!). Minidisc and Apple Iphone (GALING!)
last tuesday, hahahaha. I cannot gauge how well did they do the story and how they acted, but MAN. I was laughing all the time and i’m like seeing a “M2M” (yuck!) on-screen. Sorry, Jesi should stay away from those kind of stuff unless he/she does….whatever!
yung sa wendsday naman, parang may sira ng ulo yung character ni Hazel doon. Weird story, anyways, ang tagal and may passion yung kissing scene nila doon.
Then kanina, si Rich naman and another boy (sorry, still not paying attention to them!) did action and i place it on my 2nd spot of the best (yung best ko ay yung kay Jewel Mische (GO JEWEL!) GANDA!) May twist sa huli. Kawawa yung character ng Boy. Maganda pa naman ang kissing scene.
Worst is yung kay Hazel.
I did finally fix the battery connection of my Minidisc Recorder that somebody gave to me (sana digital camera nalang 
) and i bought a Blank disc (180 pesos, mahal!) and i like it, i do record off the radio and then pag-alis ko i fast-forward the bad stuff commercials, “pabati”, trash talk) and since this is Minidisc, i can edit tracks and record kahit nasa labas ako (kaya ba iyan ng ipod na walang 3rd party mics/inputs?)
I have watched the Keynote of Steve Jobs in Macworld 2007 and when he demonstrated a live, running Iphone. Sinabi ko sa sarili ko, GALING! Obsolete na ang lahat ng phones na in the market ngayon! Kaya Nokia has a concept phone which the front is touch-screen too like the iphone, actually matagal na gusto ng Nokia ang touch-screen na walang Physical na keys sa harap na cellphone with maps, Video call, e commerce. Remember the old Nokia commercials noong isang fictional na band tried to make a phone call with his credit cards?

Robinsons Mall’s Free Wi-FI, Jewel and that guy in “kissflicks” sa StarStruck.
The first Robinsons mall that offered free Wi-Fi (Internet ito.) was the Galleria and sabi nila ang signal ay nasa “east wing”, yung pang-rich people. Then Robinsons Pioneer also offered free wi-fi, hindi ko nga alam kung mallwide o sa “Rich” area lang.
Ngayon, Ang Robinsons Metro East naman ang meron daw na Free Wi-Fi based on banners at saka i noticed there are D-link IP Security Cameras on entrances which at the time are disconnected, a use for the Wi-fi? Now, how will they pull off this mallwide internet for free without going bankrupt on funds for this “experiment”, baka naman they will put ads before and during your browsing session. Hey i see more and more people who are using cellphones with built-in Wi-fi and sana explore naman nila ang use nito. I would like to see people with laptops that they stream live mall shows of Bands and Celebrities.
Last Night, for some darned reason, nag-iba ang Timeslot ng Starstruck from “after atlantika” to “after jumhong”. Bakit kaya, low ratings? o dahil lang sa challenge this week na “kissflicks” na sila-sila ay may lips-to-lips kissing scene which i think is waaayyyy to “atat” to do at this pont of time, bakit hindi nalang nila gawin later on the competition?
Anyways, si Jewel Mische (GO JEWEL!) and that other guy (i’m not paying attention to them, sorry.) ang nauna. Cute ang story and later this night, si Jesi and another guy naman! Si Jesi, makikipag-laplapan sa lalaki? Tomboy iyon diba? I heard that Jesi’s Tomboy Image is just a “Trojan Horse” para makakuha ng support and mag-papakababae rin sya in the end. Alamin nalang natin mamaya!

Another reason why i did check it out again is when i recently approved comments in my moderation bin. I saw 2 comments marked as spam. The one is really spam and the other one is from a valid person which told me why may tickets sa event. Ayun, medyo pumasok sa isip ko kung ano na ang nag-yari sa pasiklaban na iyan.

“Starstruck: The Next Level”, Dave & Renee! Eliminated!, “SOP” VS “ASAP”
(forgive me if i might murder the names of some of the Starstruck 4 contestants.)
Show Highlights muna ako, in the dance number. Lolipops in their mouths will equate to choking hazard especially when they breakdanced. Si Kris Bernal, gumanda na ang buhok, slight lang nga, ganda ng eyes. Si Jewel Mische (Go jewel!) ay nahuhuli sa dance number and still wala parin akong paki sa mga boys. And Direk Louie cited a website which *HATES* Stef Prescot ,because of something with Rainier of Batch 1, that the site admin banned pictures and any mention of Stef (i know what site that is: http://pinoy.rickey.org Free speech eh!)
Si Renee Eh gustong magasagasaan ang ibang ka batchmates nya for the sake of winning. Well , if you think of that. Makasarili sya and you need allies to make it though the contest alive (in the showbiz sense), she should think that she is a winner already (and is she the one who said “mas maganda ako kay Iwa [moto]!”? Totoo naman iyon eh!). Because of that, eliminated na sya sa final 14. Avenger na sya.
Si Dave na ala “Sam Milby”, also Eliminated. wala akong masabi.
Kanina, wala akong magawa kundi puro PC lang. Kain,PC,kain. Pero i did not take the time to write a long piece that i already have on paper on the previous seasons of Starstruck. Mai-type ko nga soon. Sayang lang tuloy ang oras ko sa kakalaro ng “Counter-Strike”!
“SOP Rules” and ASAP ‘07″. So far based on the segments of both shows, mas maganda ang “ASAP ‘07″ dahil majority ng singers na super galing from different singing contests ay nadoon. And lately puro self promotion & mediocre performances lang ang palabas nila sa “SOP Rules”, sometimes its downright ridiculous!. this week’s show on “ASAP ‘07″ ay loaded with Piolo Pascual’s & Vhong Navarro’s Bday party (yun lang naabutan ko) and ang tagal bago mag commercial, kwela pa ang mga segments nila. Compared to “SOP Rules” na yung mismong segement ay commercial na din (sounds like Enteng Kabisote 3??)

Where is Mau Marcelo and the others of Philipine idol??? & “Timezone” Arcade night.
Naisip ko sa sarili ko this morning. Nasaan na yung album si Mau?? Sinuportahan ko pa sya sa “Philippine Idol”, same goes to the others although ok lang sa akin na may isang “makalimutan” but i won’t say who “he” is. Kasi naman It’s the underdog (for now,should i say) station ABC-5 who did this show, bold move on their part, and may pera naman si Tony Boy since San Miguel lang naman ang ibang Company nya eh (correct me if i’m wrong).
Last night, i decided to go on and plunk my 100 pesos to play arcade games sa “Timezone”, I wanna give some history and my previous take on it. Originally, nasa Glorietta 4 sila which doon unang umabas yung “Dance, Dance Revolution” na laro at saka ubod ng mahal ang games pero almost lahat ay bago, wala pa sa kalabang “Worlds of Fun” (Ngayon “World of Fun” na ang tawag sa kanila) and they pioneered the use of pre-paid swipe cards that are reloadable, as tokens to the games. Until now, gumagana pa yung original na card na naka pangalan pa sa akin and it’s on VIP status which gives me some percentage off the original price para sa mga nag-lalaro ng tingi. Since then, dumami na ang branches nila. I never thought that they will expand over the years, only thought of them as a Boutique arcade place that only exists on high-scale malls, hindi pala, best example is the SM Megamall na sa una yung Timezone doon sa Basement level na katapat ng “World of Fun” ay maliit palang, ngayon kasing laki na sila ng kalaban (and ate some space of a loser arcade place, forgot what is its name.)
Now, on to my arcade play. My original plan is to plunk all of my money on one game “Stacker” na merong Digital Camera as prize. Pero that game is very hard (and possibly CHEATS! Kasi dati, nakaabot na ako sa itaas and as i hit the stop button to line up the last block, mukhang delayed response kaya hindi tumigil as where i wanted to be. Meron ba iyang “CHEAT” o “EXPLOIT” to win that, oh BTW: may nakita na akong nanalo ng Jackpot with my very own eyes, pero pinili yung 2000 tickets! Sana yung Digicam nalang para napikon ako ) pero changed my mind and played “Time Crisis 4″, i did use 2 or 3 card swipes and malapit na ako sa finish and natalo ako, hindi na ako nag-continue at that point, gusto ko kasi one credit lang na matapos ko yung game, i already did that with “Time Crisis 2″. And i played this game called “Super Trivia” which only me or 4 other players (the more players, the more tickets) play, as the name implies, trivia questions which pabilisan ng tamang sagot and then winner-take-all ang mananalo. I joined in and stumped the competition big time! Saka nakuha ko yung malaking jackpot nila, pero hindi ko nakuha since i fluked on one simple question, i forgot to mention another advantage of Timezone, the tickets are stored in your card, hindi na yung paper tickets unlike worlds of fun na which ang kapal na ng mga tickets na napanalunan sa coin pushing game. And i did videoke. yes i did it since nasa room naman sya eh na walang makakarining sa akin, hehehe)

Boring!, Okatokat sa computer rental shop
Before i go on with this post. Sabihin natin na sablay parin yung Voice Recognition ko based doon sa last post ko. Even though most words come out right. Mali-mali parin kahit isang word lang ang sinabi ko. It turns out na yung software is designed to the american accent and there are versions for the britsh & australian accent. Ako naman hindi perfect english kaya nag-kakamali. Example is “Voice”, lagi nalang “boys” ang inilalagay kahit ulit-ulitin ko pa. and frankly medto mabilis akong mag-salita and it will really misinterpret the words.
Also, i’m using a public computer sa hiraman ng PC. Which makes me kinda nervous kaya i will change my passwords after. Once a victim of email hacking (and i know what happened).
Now, kanina sa first class ko. In Visual Basic class. Inulit nanaman ang pinag-aralan na before, i said to myself, NANAMAN! Dapat sana direct to VB na ang studies, next week pa tuloy.

Internet connection is very very slow, apple releases its own cellphone wow! and this entry is mostly via dictation
earlier after connecting via dial up connection I was surprised that the connection is unusable because some pages were not loading even the local sites . then I decided to rent a computer in a computer shop and still the connection was very slow and unusable I asked the person in charge if he was aware of this and he said yes. Maybe it’s because the repair work all over the waters off Taiwan is undergoing its final stages and slowly being used.for this reason I won’t be buying another Internet card for now I’ll be waiting for the dust to settle on this whole slowdown issue.
But even though the Internet connection was very slow I was still able to pull up the news sites and I was surprised that apple released its own cellular phone called the “iphone”. its combined the ipod we all know and love with a cellular phone and a personal digital assistant. it has a big touch screen That fills up the front of the unit itself. and it uses the GSM system so it will work here in the Philippines not the CDMA system that America uses the iphone is to be released in June of this year
so far my accuracy rate is at 90% I still need to use the keyboard to correct the mistakes that the voice recognition made this is not dragon naturally speaking which you can control the corrections on the computer via your voice.again this will be helpful when reading off books instead of typing them by hand

Using Speech Recognition, Jennylyn Mercado’s Maxim Magazine cover
Kanina, i have downloaded the Microsoft Speech SDK to have the speech recognition capability of windows (another way to get it is via MS office, pero may Openoffice na ako eh!). I have to say after training it for about 30 mins, accurate na sya. Ako yata ang may diferensya sa grammar ko kaya mali ang ilang words. It will be a life saver for those times you just need to copy stuff off the book since you will just read the text aloud to the PC and hopefully get 95% accuracy, they even claim 99% although that is not possible in my current setup. I will write a blog entry with this speech recognition on next time.

I still haven’t seen the inside of the mag, kaya maari pang mag-bago ang isip ko. Wait, hindi pala. Ayaw ko talaga kay jen. Lukewarm lang ang aking pakiramdam noong nanalo sya.

StarStruck 4 Final 14: Heto na (heto na, heto na, naaaaaaa!!!), Powered by fast food & classes are back and Copy protection mayhem!
I was supposed to write about the Starstruck 4:Final 14 announcement last sunday, pero tinamad. Now here is my own opinions.
Yay, pasok si Jewel Mische but i noticed doon sa song number nya sa gabing iyon, kulang sa energy. Pero it did not stop direk louie from dissing her completely (yet). Si Jean de Castro pala, laglag na, tagal na. So i choose Stef Prescot as her replacement, pwedeng image model, but she has to prove to me na may talent sya. Si Kris Bernal naman, bakit nag-pagupit ng hair, i don’t like the way her hair looks now. A big surprise that night was Jesi the tomboy of the batch. She wore the same dress as the girls in a dance number. Chubby pala si Jesi. Anyways, advice ko lang sa career path nya, minimize gender specific roles. Sa mga boys, dont get a “Sam Milby” look-alike PLEASE! Let him do something else. The rest for the boys to comment on in the future.
Last Saturday and Sunday, puro fast food lang ang breakfast and lunch ko. Dinner is the only “proper” meal that i took. Kaya nga powered by fastfood nga eh. What if i only eat fast food for a month? Somebody done it already and made a film called “Super Size Me”. It’s about one man trying to convince viewers that McDonald’s and co. is responsible for obeisity in children in the United States. Buti nalang, dito sa pinas, no effect so far except our wallets lang naman.
Back to College na ako (i just call it school no matter what) and i made adjustments to myself, First: No more Sims 2 for me. I uninstalled it and deleted the save files. Second: Wake up in the morning, not brunch hours. Third: No more pointless web browsing on different topics. and lastly: DO MY ASSIGNMENTS AND REVIEWS. Para naman tumaas ang marks ko kahit konti lang.
Going back to HD-DVD & Blu-ray. Katakot-takot na “Copy Protection” na gagamitin sa Windows Vista if you want to watch HD-DVD or Blu-ray titles. Just read “A Cost Analysis of Windows Vista Content Protection” at
